Vanessa Strouse-Kenney is a seasoned Digital Media Executive with over 20 years of experience in digital and broadcast media. As the founder of Red Cardinal Media, she has a deep understanding of the consumer journey and leverages her expertise to develop custom strategies that grow and connect with your targeted audience. 

Her extensive background in organic marketing, branding, and content creation enables her to help organizations authentically connect with their audiences.

Vanessa currently serves as Vice President and Head of Digital for E.W. Scripps Network's news brands, including Scripps News and Court TV, as well as the lifestyle and e-commerce brand Don’t Waste Your Money. In this role, she drives digital content strategy, overseeing revenue and organic audience growth.

Before joining Scripps in June 2022, Vanessa spent four impactful years at Yahoo, where she was Vice President and Head of Audience Development and Content Strategy. She managed content development and distribution for a diverse media portfolio, including Yahoo Finance, Yahoo News, and Yahoo Sports, while spearheading an innovative audience development strategy across social platforms. Her leadership roles also included General Manager for Autoblog and Engadget, as well as overseeing operations for Yahoo Finance, where she launched live programming and built strategies for connected television and cable distribution.

Earlier in her career, Vanessa played a pivotal role in launching Fox Business Network in 2007, successfully building production and creative teams. She spent a decade at Fox Business Network, leading creative efforts for all programming, and contributed to MSNBC and CNBC as a producer, writer, and booker, covering significant stories across various platforms.

Vanessa's deep expertise in social media, digital media, production, studio technology, graphic design, and project management allows her to provide companies with a comprehensive approach to their media needs. Her services are tailored for organizations seeking to truly connect with their audience.

I believe every organization has the potential to enhance its brand and connect in a meaningful way with their audience. As I always say, "meet the audience where they are and let them decide how they want to engage with your brand." Companies cannot force consumer consumption habits and those that try, usually fail. 

With experience in multiple national media organizations, I’ve witnessed firsthand how rapidly the landscape is changing, and I understand the challenges of keeping pace. My goal is to leverage my experience and network of media experts to help companies build a strong foundation that empowers them to scale and strengthen their brand.

I thrive both independently and in collaboration with diverse teams. My digital, editorial and creative talents enable me to design and engineer complex media infrastructures to effectively reach your audience, while maintaining cost efficiencies. I pride myself on my honesty and no-nonsense approach and am highly experienced in executive communication. 

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my son, husband, and our sweet whippets. I love to travel and you can often find me relaxing with a nice glass of California Cabernet while planning our next vacation. Cheers!
