If you are considering hiring Vanessa Strouse-Kenney, in my opinion, the only mistake you can make is if you don’t hire her. I’m an anchor and correspondent at the Fox Business Network and I have worked with Vanessa for 10 years both at Fox Business and several years before that at CNBC. Over the years, she has led her team on the design of my show, redesigns, studio changes and set designs.
She has a unique ability to communicate across all departments including editorial, technical, and graphics. She easily engages with producers, talent and fellow management to make suggestions *and* take suggestions. On every single enagement I had with her, she worked with her designers to translate my vision to the screen. In the past 10 years, she has executed an on-air look that is strong and drives home the urgency of the Closing Bell. Having been in television news for 28 years, she’s one of the few I’ve encountered who seamlessly understands both editorial and business news. That rare skill has given her the ability to translate business news and data into a clean, understandable presentation on screen. She is a strong manager and guides her team to deliver. She is always quick to respond to any concerns and goes above and beyond to connect with the editorial staff to guarantee there is a team mentality between editorial and graphics.
She’s open to feedback but also brings her own creative ideas to the table. She led the design of the election night virtual set I anchored from, and trained me on the system to where I felt extremely comfortable delivering breaking news election information. Fox Business beat all our competitors in that night’s ratings. I attribute much of that win to Vanessa and her team.Vanessa’s unique experience makes her one of the few people who can successfully wear so many hats in the broadcasting industry. I strongly believe she’ll be an excellent leader and member of any team she joins.
I don’t usually speak in superlatives but Vanessa Strouse-Kenney deserves it.

Former CNBC Anchor
When starting a business or launching a cable network, you need a team that is innovative, creative, adaptable and fun. The stresses and time pressures are difficult enough. Even worse with negativity or lack of teamwork. We were lucky and blessed to have Vanessa as a key manager in a vital position. Her marketing and design skills were crucial as we positioned the network as an alternative to a staid competitor. Her management and logistics abilities were key during the extremely short time we had to hire scores of artists, graphic designers and animators; while procuring and installing the equipment in an even shorter time frame. When she briefed on progress, you not only had all of your concerns addressed, she would often identify issues that were unrelated to her direct supervisory role and offer well thought out options and solutions in advance. Vanessa's experience saved us countless hours, untold expense, and frustration. She is a fire and forget weapon. This allowed senior management to focus on other mission critical areas. You knew that the graphic department was going to be on time, on budget and the end product would look like nothing else broadcasting. And just as important, but often overlooked is fact and quality control. She led her team in crafting style guides, tutorials and fact checking all of the output of the department, and any visual element that went to air. From breaking news to the most complex election night graphic package, Vanessa produced it all. With a smile and a laugh, with grace and deep competence, and with the never ending respect and admiration of all that have worked with her.

I have worked with Vanessa for years. In fact, I have known her since she began her career. I worked with her on stories and segments, and I have always found her input valuable. Whether leading a project—or having to create a team from scratch—Vanessa has always delivered. She is one of the few people who can create content and manage others. To have both creative skills and people skills is a gift, and it has served her well. Also, she’s really fun and funny. And she knows a lot about wine...
Jane Wells, CNBC Senior Correspondent
I had the privilege of working with Vanessa at both MSNBC and FOX Business. I was Senior Director for both networks and therefore, had constant involvement with graphics. Vanessa and I worked closely to launch over 50 new specials and shows. Vanessa brought designers, directors and producers together to brainstorm the look and feel of each show. She and her team were there for all blocking sessions to ensure the set design worked for what was planned. She also made sure she had support team in the control room for each show launch. Her background in graphics and producing made this process incredibly helpful and easy. Her instincts on building a show editorially and visually are spot on and helpful to all involved. In addition, her communication and management skills are second to none. I learned from her daily. Her team respected and worked hard for her which helped us hit the inevitable short timelines that were set. Vanessa leads by creating good, strong leaders. She is the type of manager you want on your team; creating leaders and not followers.
